The Available Servings is the amount of a product that can be used at a particular place during a certain period. Stock on Hand indicates the amount of a product we have on hand, while Available Servings shows the amount of stock prepared for use in the current service period.
Front of House and Kitchen personnel can adjust the Available Servings at the Point of Sale. As items are bought, this number will decrease in real-time across all POS terminals.
Once the last serving is gone, all devices will no longer offer the item, staff will receive a “Sold Out” notification, Menu Boards will display the item as “Sold Out”, and if OrderAway is being used, customers will also see it as unavailable on their phones.
Forget about the situation where the kitchen can't complete an order, and the Chef has to send someone to the table to let the guest know that they must pick something else. This eliminates potential hold-ups due to the whole table or course items being served separately. No more customers with a negative experience, free meals and no more kitchen slowdowns!
Expert Tip: Available Servings can also be used for non-hospitality items as well. Available Servings can be used to keep an accurate count of the number of people in a room, in order to observe the maximum headcount. It can also be applied to regulate ticket sales, for instance the quantity of seats at a film screening.
